Each SmokeTop is made from American Cherry Wood and finished with a light coat of food-safe mineral oil, so what the recipient opens is a solid piece of barware rather than a plastic gadget. The design is protected under U.S. Patent No. 11,871,769. A single SmokeTop lasts about 500 uses, so it keeps working well past the holidays.
The form factor is deliberately small. The top rests on the glass. There is no base unit taking up counter space and nothing to store between pours. It lives on the bar cart alongside the bottles.
Custom engraving is added on the product page, which turns the product into a personal gift. Engraved bourbon gifts tend to work best when the engraving is restrained: initials, a date, a last name.

How it works:
- Load a small amount of chips onto the screen. Less than you would expect is usually right.
- Set the SmokeTop on the rim of the glass.
- Torch the chips until the glass fills with smoke, then lift and serve.
The four-pack works as a whiskey tasting set with wood chips, letting the recipient compare woods against the same pour. Cherry and oak both pair well with bourbon and rye: cherry leans sweeter and rounder, oak sits closer to the barrel character already in the spirit.
